round the world via Daft Punk

i just bought two sweet potatoes (local Pittsburgh), some saffron, a bag of local onions, a blue brie-based cheese of some description (France), a small jar of nicoise olives (France), some sundried tomatoes (Australia) an eggplant from Chili, some white balsamic from Italy, some green tea with toasted rice from Japan, low sodium soy sauce from Taiwan, five vanilla beans from Madagascar, ground coriander seed and fennel seed from India, sourkrout from Canada (huh?), and thai red curry paste from Thailand. Completely normal, in terms of everyone's shopping trip, usually.

we forget that all these things have come from all around the world. Well, at least I do sometimes. think about the whole chain.

someone had to grow it, someone has to pick it, someone had to pack it, someone had to transport it, someone had to collect it, someone had to price it, some one had to shelf it,  someone had to check it out, and someone had to baggage it.

sound likes a new Daft Punk track to me.

quite a chain. And quite a number of people. I wish I could have an exclusive party (like the ones at clubs where there are the VIP booths and such) for those and those only on the above list, who ever they are. Here at my pad. Drinks on me!

Well, maybe not, but the sentiment still remains.

oh, what a wonderful world, Satchmo....  gb

PS: and who, might I ask, did I leave out? lots of places, of course. But only one intentionally. china, of course. Filthy government.... Let your gifted people speak out! and let them have public media!!

PPS: next place i am buying something will be from Egypt. you should too. Egypt is gunna be the next rockstar country, you just wait and see! well, i do have a fantastic shirt i bought years ago from there, actually (i just went to my wardrobe to confirm).

Hear, hear.

Hear, hear to Filthy Governments.....

Let your amazing poet out, stupid Chinese government!

Now!
